How often do I need to renew my Puerto Rico Medical Marijuana Card?

Puerto Rico medical marijuana certificates are valid for one and can be renewed online. We recommend renewing 30 days before your expiration date to avoid a lapse in coverage.

Renewal consultations with Leafwell cost $99 and you'll only be charged if approved.

Here's a summary of the renewal process:

1. Sign in to your Leafwell account or register as a renewal patient here.

2. Speak to a Puerto Rico-licensed provider online.

3. Once approved, the provider will submit your recommendation directly to the state using your SSN.

4. Within 48 business hours, the provider will upload a copy of your state registration details to Leafwell, and you will receive an email notification.

5. Log into the PR license portal to apply for an Adult Patient Renewal (Paciente Adulto - Renovación) card and pay the $25 application fee.

6. Once approved, download your “voucher”(aka medical card).
