How often do I need to renew my Texas Medical Marijuana Card?

Texas medical marijuana certificates are valid for one year and can be renewed online. We recommend renewing 15 days before your expiration date to avoid a lapse in coverage.

A renewal consultation with Leafwell costs $99 and you'll only be charged if approved.

Here's a summary of the renewal process:

1. Sign in to your Leafwell account or register as a renewal patient here.

2. Speak with a Texas-licensed physician online and get approved.

3. The physician will enter your details directly into the Compassionate Use Registry of Texas (CURT) using the last 5 digits of your SSN. As a reminder, there are no physical cards or certificates issued.

4. Go to your local dispensary and show your photo ID — they will verify your patient status in CURT.

Please note: If you see a new physician, your previous physician must terminate the relationship in CURT before your appointment.
