How often do I need to renew my Massachusetts Medical Marijuana Card?

Massachusetts medical marijuana certificates are valid for one year and can be renewed online.

A renewal consultation with Leafwell costs $99 and you'll only be charged if approved. Plus, when you use Leafwell, we'll send you a renewal reminder 60 days before your certificate is due to expire to make sure you have plenty of time to renew your state registration too.

Here's a summary of the renewal process:

1. Sign in to Leafwell, or if you’re new to Leafwell, register as a renewal patient here.
2. Speak to a Massachusetts-licensed healthcare provider online and get approved.

3. Once the provider has submitted your certification using the last 4 digits of your SSN,

   log into your state account at the Massachusetts Medical Use of Marijuana Program website. Click "Register as a Patient," then "Renew Registration."
4. Complete the state-side renewal application by following the prompts on the screen.
5. Once your application has been approved, your new program ID card will arrive in the mail in 7-10 business days.
