How often do I need to renew my Michigan Medical Marijuana Card?

Michigan medical marijuana certificates are valid for two years and can be renewed online. We recommend renewing 60 days before your expiration date to avoid a lapse in coverage. 

A renewal consultation with Leafwell costs $99 and you'll only be charged if approved.

Here's a summary of the renewal process:

1. Sign in to your Leafwell account or register as a renewal patient here.
2. Speak to a Michigan-licensed physician online, get approved, and download your certification.
3. Log into the Michigan Medical Marijuana Program and complete your state application within 30 days.* (You may need to link your existing registration record before starting the renewal application.)
4. Pay the $40 state application fee and receive an email once your application has been processed.
5. Receive your new card in the mail within 30 business days.
