How often do I need to renew my Washington, D.C., Medical Marijuana Card?
Washington, D.C. medical marijuana certificates are valid for two years and can be renewed online.
Renewal consultations with Leafwell cost $99, and you'll only be charged if approved. Plus, when you renew with Leafwell, we'll send you a reminder 30 days before your certification expires so you have plenty of time to complete your renewal application with the state.
Please note that adults 21 and older may self-certify and do not need to see a healthcare provider to apply to the Washington, D.C. Medical Cannabis Program.
Here's a summary of the renewal process:
- Sign in to Leafwell, or if you’re new to Leafwell, register as a renewal patient here.
- Speak to a Washington, D.C. licensed provider online.
- Complete the patient renewal application following the prompts.
- Pay and submit any state application fees.
- You will receive both a digital approval letter and a physical card from the state in 10-14 business days.
