What are the medical cannabis laws in Kentucky?
Medical marijuana is illegal in Kentucky, as is recreational marijuana use. Marijuana is illegal in Kentucky. However, Executive Order 2022-798 allows Kentuckians with certain conditions to use and possess medical cannabis.
There was a previous attempt at recreational legalization in 2015 that failed, and 2014 saw the legalization of CBD trials, with Governor Andy Beshear signing a law permitting patients to use non-psychoactive cannabidiol (CBD) derivatives with a physician's recommendation under clinical trials at the University of Kentucky in the treatment of epilepsy.
All that is available is Executive Order 2022-798.
