Will I be added to a public database of medical marijuana patients in Washington?
Firstly, no database of cannabis users is public in Washington.
Secondly, it is optional to be added to the database. You only need your authorization form to purchase marijuana but you will not be recognized as a medical patient, and therefore not eligible for the higher possession limits and cultivation rights.
For the nominal fee of $1-$10, you can get a card which will provide you with the legal right to possess more medical cannabis and to grow plants, if your provider recommends this. You can do this by going to a medically endorsed marijuana store and talking with their medical marijuana consultant - they can enter you into the database and provide you with a card.
Note that minors do need to register with the state.
